Die Areolen tragen oft Nektardrüsen. Die Dornen könen vorhanden sein oder fehlen.
Die Blüten wachsen am Scheitel der Triebe und sind glockenförmig. Sie öffnen sich am Tag.
Sie wachen im Südwesten der Vereinigten Staaten. Ihre Vorkommen sind in Arizona, Kalifornien, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico und Utah
verbreitet.
