Kaktusart

Diese stammsukkulenten Arten wachsen kugelig bis säulenförmig. Sie verzweigen sich nur selten. Die Rippen sind runde Höcker, auf denen runde Areolen entspringen. Aus ihnen wachsen bunte aufgeraute Dornen. Die trichterförmigen Blüten sind oft weiß bis purpur.

Hauptsächlich wachsen diese Arten in Nordmexiko.
